Can I use my CPAP Machine onboard an aircraft?

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has determined that airlines can safely expand passenger use of Medical Portable Electronic Devices (MPEDs) in airplane mode during all phases of flight.

The FAA encourages airlines to include M-PEDs (Medical Portable Electronic Devices) in their carry-on baggage programs and/or personal items policies in order to increase accessibility in air travel for people with disabilities.

For more information, visit http://www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/ped/faq/

The Transcend CPAP and Auto Machines have been authorised for use on board aircraft. They even have a sticker underneath the machine stating this.

We provide the Transcend Manufacturer’s FAA Compliance Letter with every Transcend Machine purchased from us.

We highly recommend you advise your airline or travel agent at least 2 weeks before travelling if you wish to use your Transcend CPAP machine on board the aircraft.

Important Note:

Even thought the FAA encourages use of medical portable devices, the final decision is made by the airline company.
