What is titration and why is it important?
After a patient is diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), the current standard of practice involves a sleep technician performing an attended polysomnography (PSG) sleep study. During sleep, positive airway pressure is adjusted throughout the recording period to determine the optimal pressure for maintaining the best possible unobstructed upper airway performance.
Does the BMC Auto CPAP Machine have a titration feature?
Yes it does.
in Titration Mode, the pressure will automatically vary between the Initial Pressure, the Treatment Pressure, or the Maximum Pressure, depending on what the machine determines is necessary to help keep the upper airway open during sleep.
“In my personal experience, this is the most comfortable mode of operation.”
